Aloha!  I am so excited to be a part of the HMA Windward team, and to teach the 7th & 8th grade class!  I was born and raised in Iceland, then moved to America in 6th grade.  I attended Southern Adventist University in Tennessee, where I received a BA in Psychology and Elementary Education.  From there I moved back to Iceland to teach, then island-hopped across the world to Hawaii for a teaching position at HMA Windward!  It was here that I met and married my husband.  After several years in Kailua, I accepted a principal and teaching position in Indiana.  Now, eight years and three kids later, God has brought us back to Hawaii.  We are thrilled to have the opportunity to raise our kids here and to be a part of this beautiful community.

I enjoy surfing, scuba-diving, skiing, amusement parks, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends and family.  I speak two languages: English and Icelandic.

My favorite Bible Verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” I try to apply this to everything I face in life.  I hope to help every student grow stronger in their relationship with Jesus, to get to know Him more!

Life is an adventure, and it’s comforting to know God is at the wheel.

True education is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come.
