MISSION STATEMENT

"Train Young People For Eternity"

            The mission statement for Hawaiian Mission Academy - Windward Campus is certainly parsimonious yet it succinctly captures the essence of Christian education - Train Young People For Eternity.  In broad brush strokes it paints a universal goal - spending eternity with Jesus.  To train a young person implies guidance.  The goal is not achieved automatically.  There is an element of supervision, even of discipline.  A student is in essence a disciple - one who learns, and that learning process can be called a discipline.  This is a very Biblical usage of the word.  Training also implies a direction, a focus, a goal.  It rejects both a haphazard approach as well as an astigmatic vision.  It must be clean, sharp and focused - for salvation comes not from happenstance but from Christ who expects us to work with intentionality for the salvation of our young people.  Biblically, living eternally is always and only with Jesus.  There is no life without Him.  HMA Windward's mission statement is not refractive but laser like.  Without stating much, it says it all.
